A.P. Open School Society caters to the needs of learners up to the Intermediate level for those who could not continue studies in the formal system. The Andhra Pradesh Open School Society was set up on 20th February 1991 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh initially to cater to the educational needs of dropout boys and girls in the State under the Open School System. The motto of Open School is “Be Educated and Be Empowered”.

Objectives :

• To identify the educational needs of the learners who are generally not catered to by the formal system of school education.
• To provide opportunities for school education up to pre-degree level through open and distance learning (ODL) mode.
• To identify and promote standards of learning in an open and distance learning system.
